Last week I was able to go to the 2022 REUnited Annual Conference at the Dolphin Resort at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. During that time, I was able to hear from some amazing individuals who had a lot to share about life. One of the speakers was John "Gucci" Foley. He is a retired Navy Blue Angel (elite Navy Flying team) flyer and was the pilot for Tom Cruise in Top Gun and the new movie out Top Gun Maverick. He mentioned many things and even showed us a clip of the new Maverick movie, which was awesome. His hashtag is the title of this post #GladToBeHere. And aren't we all glad to be here?
He talked about resiliency. Having 1.focus. Concentration is the key. He also mentioned 2. fitness which is the mind-body connection, 3. the Gucci flip-embrace new perspective, 4. purpose-a purpose higher than ourselves, and 5. #gladtobehere, which is gratitude.
He talked about how the Blue Angels debriefed after every performance. The way it was done and how it can relate to any profession but particularly real estate. The dynamics of a debrief were respect, humility, openness, accountability and gratitude. While I always try to live my life this was, I thought what a wonderful world this would be if we all practiced these values in our business and in our ever day lives. But don't mind me. I am just #GladToBeHere!
