Rodeway Inn Cruiseport, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

It has been several years since we were at Rodeway Inn in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. When I first did the research, I did not think a Rodeway Inn could be so nice. We were not disappointed. So when we came this time prior to our cruise, we eoected the same or better. A few things had chagned. For one, we had to pay $10 to go to the cruise port. That was because we needed to be there at 1pm. The shuttle was not leaving until 1pm and that would have made us late since we had a 30 minute checkin window. So we opted to leave at noon. I would rather be early than late. The second thing that we had to do was pay a $7 per night resort fee. When I asked why, I was told it was because we did not book directly with them. Instead we booked with a third party. Well, as a travel agent, I will almost always book with a third party. Lastly, we had to pay a refundable $100 deposit for our room. I put it on a credit card because he said it would be refunded in a couple of days. For debit cards, it could take up to two weeks, I believe he said. The hotel is still nice for cruising out of Fort Lauderdale. The shuttle from the Amtrak station to the hotel was nice. The transportation was there within about 15-20 minutes. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, a nice gift shop and free breakfast from 6:30am till 9am. We will be back herre in April for another cruise. It will probably be cheaper for us to get a car service to the port in Miami than to use the hotels transportation. But, we will check out the options and let you know. When you visit my BMac Travel Facebook page, you will be able to see the accommodations we had and some of the grounds. Tomorrow we will be going on the cruise. So stay tuned to see what ship we will be on and what we think! Also make sure you like our page because we will have videos, give-a-ways and more.
